This cuff is the most recent of my handmade copper cuff bracelet designs, displaying an amazing turquoise gemstone which goes beautifully with copper. Turquoise is an opaque, blue-to-green mineral that is a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminium. It is rare and valuable in finer grades and has been prized as a gemstone and ornamental stone for thousands of years owing to its unique hue. This beautiful piece of green turquoise was hand-mined from Miller Mountain which is located south of the Candellaria Hills in Nevada. Miller Turquoise is a recent find (2015) and I was able to purchase this and one other piece from the actual mine owners. Miller Turquoise is one of the more expensive turquoise, which leads me to believe that this mine is no longer producing turquoise.

I fabricated this cuff from 14ga copper sheet, hammering the surface to create texture. The fine silver bezel that surrounds this gorgeous turquoise gemstone has been fused with recycled fine silver dust creating a very unique, rustic texture.   And finally, the entire copper cuff was given a beautiful patina of golds and browns and finished with a light coat of wax. This handcrafted turquoise gemstone copper cuff bracelet is approximately 1.25” in width at the center and graduating down to 1” closer to the cuff opening on each end. The actual turquoise stone setting is ~ 1.5” in length and width. This handmade turquoise copper cuff bracelet has an approximate inside measurement of 6 1/4” ", in addition to the 1" gap, for a total inside measurement of ~7 1/4" - this cuff will fit wrist size 6 1/2 - 7 1/4" comfortably.   Be sure to read my blog entry on cuff bracelets for information about cuff placement and the do's and don'ts for placing a cuff bracelet on your wrist.

Please avoid moisturizers and or perfume on the area of your wrist where your cuff will be worn, as it may react with the copper and leave dark marks on your wrist.  Also, some people may have an allergic skin reaction to copper and it will leave dark marks on their skin.  Either way, the dark marks can be washed off easily with a little soap and water.
