I have been designing with quite a bit of Hubei Turquoise lately … it comes in the most amazing shades of blue and this one definitely is an intense shade of blue.

I designed this handmade turquoise necklace for those who prefer a more modern, simple necklace design. Real turquoise jewelry, and in this case a real turquoise necklace that is handmade by an artisan, would be a great heirloom piece you can pass down for generations.

This handcrafted sterling silver pendant was given a hammered texture, as well as the sterling silver extension chain and clasp. The entire handmade pendant was finished in a matte satin finish.

Hubei Turquoise is found in the Hubei region of China. Today, most of the turquoise produced in China comes from the Ma'anshan and Hubei mines. The Hubei province includes the Yungai (also known as Cloud Mountain) and the Zhuxi mines. Turquoise from the Hubei region sometimes obtains the brilliant blues long favored by turquoise enthusiasts.
