This is the very first time I have worked with cobalto calcite, but I am sure it won't be the last. This cobalto calcite is a beautiful pink color which is more like the color of wine.  And this cobalto calcite has chunkier crystals than most druzies.

I hung this cobalto calcite sterling silver pendant on natural, black leather cord.  Although I had been moving away from using leather in my jewelry designs (for personal reasons), I came across this beautiful leather that is sourced from India.  I am still kind of on the fence about using leather, but I know that no animals were harmed in the making of this leather, as they died of natural causes.

I fabricated this pendant from sterling silver, giving it texture by fusing fine silver dust on the back side and on the fine silver bezel that surrounds the stone.  Additionally the hammered sterling silver extension chain, clasp and the end caps have all been hand fabricated, not to mention the awesome new bail design.  And finally, all the handcrafted sterling silver components were given a gun metal patina for that rusticated finish.

This unique handcrafted cobalto calcite sterling silver pendant is 2 3/8" in length (including the bail) and ~1 1/8" at its widest point.  The leather necklace length is adjustable,  17" to 19".
