A beautiful natural surface No. 8 turquoise is the focal point of this copper and fine silver pendant. No. 8 turquoise comes from the No. 8 mine located west of the Tuscarora Range in the Lynn Mining District in Nevada. The Number 8 Turquoise mine has long been depleted since 1961 and with limited reserves of this stone in existence. Almost all the turquoise produced is of the spider web type, with the matrix varying from golden brown to black. The colors grade from very light blue to very dark blue, some with interesting tints of green.  As with most mines, Number 8 turquoise has certain characteristic colors and matrix patterns that are very easily identified.

The no. 8 turquoise pendant was fabricated using copper and fine silver.  The copper back plate was given a hammered texture and the fine silver bezel has been fused with recycled fine silver dust. This turquoise copper pendant hangs from light brown leather cord finished with handcrafted argentium silver cord ends, sterling silver extension chain and clasp. Finally, the entire turquoise copper pendant was given a beautiful patina of golds and browns and the cord ends, extension chain and clasp were given a rustic patina as well. The copper pendant was finished with a light coat of wax for protection of the patina.

This handmade turquoise copper pendant is approximately 1 1/2" in length (including the bail) and 3/4" at its widest.  This no. 8 turquoise necklace is adjustable 17 to 18 1/2" in length.

There is a distinct vibration when working with turquoise that resonates within the throat and third eye chakras.  Turquoise can balance and align all the chakras, stabilizing mood swings and instilling inner calm. Turquoise is worn as a December birthstone and is an 11th anniversary gemstone.

Please avoid moisturizers and or perfume on the area of your wrist where your cuff will be worn, as it may react with the copper and leave dark marks on your wrist.  Also, some people may have an allergic skin reaction to copper and it will leave dark marks on their skin.  Either way, the dark marks can be washed off easily with a little soap and water.

Wearing copper can relieve joint stiffness and joint pain.  Copper is also a very grounding metal and it has the ability to transfer vibrational frequencies from the higher vibrational realms of spirit into the physical. Copper will help you to keep the pathways for healing open in your life.
