Bamboo Mountain Turquoise is some amazing material.  It comes from China and it has been said that turquoise today from China accounts for over 60% of the stones sold in the United States, due to the scarcity of American turquoise. I have come across some amazing turquoise from China lately, Bamboo Mountain being one of my favorites.  It has so much color variation.

This Bamboo Mountain Turquoise gemstone is surrounded by a fine silver bezel which is set on a sterling silver pendant.  In order to give this pendant my favorite texture, the backside of the pendant and the handmade bail was fused with recycled sterling silver dust.  And of course I gave the entire pendant a patina bath and gently polished the surface for that rustic look that I love.

This handcrafted Bamboo Mountain Turquoise sterling silver pendant is approximate 1 3/4" in length (including the bail) and is 1 1/8" at its widest.  This handmade Bamboo Mountain Turquoise sterling silver pendant is hung from 3.9mm sterling silver rolo chain attached to a hand-forged sterling silver clasp and extension chain for a length of 20-22".  The rolo chain, and the hand-forged extension chain and clasp were all given the same patina as the pendant.
